Easy Low-Prep Activities for a 1 Year Old

With Summer here and the beginning of my Stay at Home journey I began searching the internet for fun, easy activities for a toddler. However, I quickly discovered that most of the activities I found were geared more towards a 2 year old and up. I have a very active 15 month old and, although we are working on learning colors and shapes, he just isn’t ready for an independent color matching activity yet. I needed activities that he could do on his own so I could cook dinner, do dishes, pay taxes, sit in peace for 5 minutes…

Things I look for when finding a 1 year old activity

  • age and skill level appropriate
  • uses supplies I already have around the house
  • easy, quick set up
  • good chance it will keep my 1 year old’s attention for more than 5 minutes
  • not a lot of clean up required

I’ve searched the internet for easy 1 year old activities to share with you.

You’re going to love the activities I have found! They are easy to set up and will keep your child’s attention for enough time for you to get a quick chore done (or at least have 5 minutes of quiet time).
