Garlic Parmesan Broccoli

Broccoli is such a good side dish, it can be cooked in so many ways! One of my new favorite ways is this Garlic Parmesan Broccoli. It’s cooked on the stovetop with sauted garlic and sprinkled with shredded parmesan cheese then topped off with a squeeze of lemon juice. So cheesy and tangy, it’s perfect to pair with almost anything!

What you will need for this recipe

Just 1 head of broccoli, cut and season with salt and pepper. Saute garlic in olive oil then top off your broccoli with parmesan cheese and lemon juice! Pretty simple, which makes a great side dish if you ask me!!

How to make Garlic Parmesan Broccoli

First cut your broccoli and season it with salt and pepper, as much or as little as you like. Add olive oil and minced garlic to your skillet, cast iron of course. Be sure to stir your garlic often so it doesn’t burn, you want it just browned but not burned. Once garlic is sauted nicely, add broccoli to your skillet. Put a lid on your skillet and cook broccoli until tender, it took mine about 30 minutes. Be sure to stir often so it doesn’t burn. I do like my broccoli just a little burned as you can see in my pictures but of course you don’t want it sitting on one side the whole time! Once broccoli is almost done then squeeze your lemon juice and sprinkle parmesan cheese all over that nicely cooked broccoli.

This Garlic Parmesan Broccoli makes for a quick and delicious side dish that can be paired with almost anything!

Total Time 35 minutes


  • 1 head broccoli
  • 6 tbsp shredded parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt & pepper


  1. Cut broccoli and season with salt and pepper. 

  2. Add olive oil to skillet and heat on medium high. Add minced garlic to oil to saute.

  3. Once garlic is just browned, add seasoned broccoli to skillet.

  4. Cover skillet and cook broccoli, turning often, about 30 minutes or until tender. 

  5. When broccoli is almost done, sprinkle with parmesan cheese and squeeze lemon juice on top of broccoli and stir.
